Roland Accordion Information

Are you new to a Roland accordion? Watch this intro video.

A great video for first time Roland accordion owners to help you learn what to expect when you receive your new Roland with Dale Mathis Sounds.

It is an excellent idea to back up your Dale Mathis registrations to a USB memory stick. Download this file, then follow along with the video instructions. If the accordion should ever exhibit erratic behavior, you can simply reload the programming.

Many 4x owners do not realize how many accordion, orchestra, and drum sounds are built into your accordion. This is only a partial list. The ALpINE sound expansion adds more sounds that are not listed in this PDF.

Watch this video before you unpack your new FR-4x from Kraft Music. Then, watch it again before you turn it on for the first time.

Similar instructions to the Turn On video above. A little repetition can't hurt, and perhaps there is something in this video that I did not explain well in the other video.

FR-4x setting up Cordovox Sounds

Dale Mathis User Programs with Cordovox Sounds are included with the 4x and 8x models. But you may want to set up your own combinations in the Dale Mathis Turn-On Set. This video explains how to do it.

The Cordovox was a popular 1950s - 1970s accordion that combined an acoustic accordion together with an electric organ in a "somewhat" portable package. Dale Mathis has recreated that sound without the need for extra amplifier and sound generator boxes. Everything is built into the Roland accordion.

Understanding the KEY Touch with Dale Mathis Programming

The Roland digital accordion is capable of creating fantastic sounds, but making the most of your new accordion requires you to understand that some sounds play differently than traditional acoustic accordions. Dale Mathis has programmed some of the orchestra sounds to play without pulling on the bellows, while others require you to hit the keys and buttons harder to make certain "effects" sound out within the sound. Watch this video for a visual explanation.
